APO Alumni 2022
APO ALUMNI VII
Conference Report
Topic: 10 Years of Patient Organizations Education
Venue: French Embassy in Prague
Date: 1 December 2022, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
The Academy of Patient Organizations (APO) is an educational and networking project of the
Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry, which celebrates its 10thanniversary this year. The
aim of the project has been clear since the very start: to support the transformation of patient groups
from more or less informal groups of enthusiasts into professional, independent and transparent
organisations. The originally intimate project, which involved 30 patient organizations, numbers over
100 participating patient organizations now. Over the course of its existence, the APO has managed
to organize more than 180 all-day seminars, 600 hours of individual consultations, several patient
meetings and conferences, and map about 900 grant calls.
On the occasion of its important anniversary, representatives of patient organizations, the Ministry
of Health of the Czech Republic, the State Institute for Drug Control, the Czech Medical Association of
J.E.P. and other partners met at the networking meeting of APO Alumni VII.
Participants present at the meeting appreciated the long-term contribution of the APO project and
expressed their wish to develop it further. The European educational project of EUPATI, which will be
implemented within the APO programme in 2023, was also introduced.
The meeting was supported by:
