The APO Alumni 2025 gathering took place at the Embassy of France in Prague, where the Academy of Patient Organizations met for the third time. Nearly 130 guests attended the event in the embassy’s representative premises, the majority of whom were representatives of patient organizations. The meeting was opened by Louis de Fauchezaur, Head of the Economic Section and Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of France in the Czech Republic. He was followed by David Kolář, Executive Director of the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry (AIFP), and Tomáš Boráň, Director of the State Institute for Drug Control.
Speaking on behalf of patient organizations, Jana Dobrovská, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Assistance after Brain Injury, highlighted the educational and networking benefits of the Academy of Patient Organizations. In her remarks, she particularly emphasized participation in the APO Mastermind Group, designed for senior leaders of patient organizations. Established approximately one year ago, the group provides a confidential space for sharing experiences, mutual support, and leadership development. She also noted her intention to take part in the third cycle of the certified EUPATI education programme, which is held under the auspices of the Minister of Health and strengthens patient involvement in research and health technology assessment.
