APO Summer School IX.
The APO Summer School was held for the ninth time since its inception. This year, on 28 August, it visited the newly renovated premises of the Bohemia Pavilion at the Prague Exhibition Centre. As last year, it focused on the preparation of the amendment to the law on advertising regulation and attracted almost 130 guests, mainly from patient organisations. The standard has not yet reflected the development of modern times and rather complicates life for professionals, patient organisations and industry. Anyone can search for any information on the internet and the strict regulation of advertising no longer serves its function.
In the discussion, the invited experts agreed that the form of the law does not really reflect the present day and that some of the rules should be changed and adapted. However, the legislative process is at an early stage and there are a number of possibilities to change the final form of the amendment for the last time in this parliamentary term.
