APO Summer School 2016
APO Summer School is a joint project of Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry (AIFP) and Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně (ČLS JEP).
The main objectives of the meeting were to set a reciprocal dialogue and to elevate the erudition of patient organizations so that they could be an equal partner in communication with the state authorities.
Nearly 120 representatives attended the second annual of APO Summer School from patient organizations, Czech Medical Society (ČLS JEP), Ministry of Health, media, industry and others. The program started in the main hall of the Kaiserstejn Palace. The official welcome speech was hosted by:

Mr. Nikos Dedes, president and a founding member of ‘Positive Voice’, Association of People Living with HIV in Greece accepted the invitation. His speech was mainly focused on the topic of advantages of collaboration between patient organizations and Medical Societies followed by a discussion on mentioned issue comparing situation in the Czech Republic and in Greece.
The main parts of the program were roundtable discussions in 11 various therapeutic areas. Each area was separated in the different table, which creates great opportunity to initiate closer cooperation between experts and patients. Professionals facilitated all debates. Outcomes of each roundtable were presented in the main hall.
Mrs. Lenka Teska Arnoštová, the first Deputy of the Minister of Health, and Mr. Radek Policar, the deputy of the Minister of the Czech Republic for Legislation and Legal Affairs accepted an invitation to join for interactive discussions with patient organizations.
